Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Assistant and Lead Counselors to work in our camps. The Counselor position is for college students and those of college-age who have some experience working with children and leading a group of children.
Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8:15am-4:15pm with one before and one after care shift each week. Pay for Assistant Counselors start at $490 per week and pay for Lead Counselors start at $520 per week. Exact position and salary is dependent on your experience working with children, your year in college, and if you have any special experience in science and/or technology.
We are looking for folks who:
- Enjoy working with children
- Have some experience working with and leading a group of children
- Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can commit to working at least 5 weeks between July 15th and August 23rd
- Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
- Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
