Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Preschool Counselors to work at our Garrett Park/Kensington Location. The Lead Preschool Instructor position is for certified teachers and other adults working in the field of education or childcare that have at least 1 year experience working with and teaching children ages 4-5 (PreK-K).
Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8:15am-4:15pm with one before and one after care shift each week. Pay for Lead Preschool Instructors start at $570 a week and is dependent on your experience working with children . Certified teachers start at $640 per week
We are looking for folks who:
- Enjoy working with preschool and kindergarten-aged children
- Have experience working with and teaching preschool and kindergarten-aged children
- Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
- Passionate about providing children with hands-on learning experiences
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can commit to work at least 5 weeks from June 17th-August 2nd (total of 6 weeks of camp; no camp July 1-5)
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
- Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
